We’re finally here—the day of MasterChef Singapore Season 2 finale! It’s been such a thrilling journey watching the contestants eagerly competing for the final spot and now we’re down to the last two, Leon and Derrick. Who are you rooting for?

But before the finale, we found it only fitting to speak with one of the judges of this season as well as a producer. And that is why we invited Chef Bjorn Shen and Executive Producer Nicholas Oh from the show to speak about the production side of the reality TV competition that’s got Singapore hooked. It’s a candid affair as our host, Zat, poses questions that unbox the realities of filming, such as timeline, the real obstacles that the contestants (and the judges) face, and how the format of the show is designed and impacts (or can we say, influences?) your viewing pleasure.

All we know is that there’s no shortage of tension and fun, all bundled in an hour-long cooking competition. Although some of our favourites have sadly already been eliminated from the show, we’re holding our breath to see who emerges victorious in the finale.

And if you’re wondering if there’ll be a MasterChef Singapore Season 3, well, there’s no word yet. But we do have wise parting words from Chef Bjorn and Nicholas Oh to budding contestants who plan to sign up for a cooking competition: ‘Be ready to take it to the next level. Show your personality. It’s the journey; not the destination.’ We wish both Leon and Derrick all the best, and be on the lookout for our future episode where we’ll have them in our studio to spill juicy anecdotes about their time on the show!
