It’s been a while since the mega-hit series, Squid Game, dropped, but its relevancy is truly a testament to how popular it’s become. There was the Honeycomb Challenge at Brown Butter, along with honeycomb-flavoured ice cream at Overscoop, and an adorable ‘Red Light Green Light’ inspired marketing video by Chulop!. Now, Ji Xiang Ang Ku Kueh is offering you the chance to make ang ku kueh that look just like the red jumpsuit-clad guards.

If you’ve bested the Honeycomb Challenge and want to take your love for Squid Game to the next level, this is where it’s at. This workshop by Ji Xiang Ang Ku Kueh will include a demonstration by an instructor, and a hands-on session where participants will learn dough folding techniques, colour selection, structure arrangement, as well as how to create the perfect ratio of skin thickness to filling amount.

Participants of the workshop are strongly encouraged to attend an introductory class, and slots are S$125 for the first session, and S$85 for subsequent sessions on weekdays. On the weekends, initial sessions are S$130 and workshops after that will set you back S$90.

Classes are held at Ji Xiang Ang Ku Kueh’s Bugis outlet, and will last for one hour and 45 minutes. All equipment will be provided, and you get to bring home adorable Squid Game characters in ang ku kueh form, each filled with homemade peanut or mung bean paste.
