It’s not often that you find a cafe that brings both artisan coffee and beer—normally it’s one of the two since most places either specialise in caffeine or booze. But if you’re the kind who enjoys a nice cold pint after a smooth cup of white, the newly opened Good Intentions at Katong will have just what you need.

Opened by the same people behind Good Luck Beer House, the highly popular craft beer darlings at Haji Lane, this new cafe doesn’t just bring good luck but also good vibes with its serene and airy decor.

That’s especially true with the spacious semi-al fresco upper level of Good Intentions that is mighty conducive for those that need a place to “work from home” with a bit of alcohol or caffeine to boost your productivity.

While their prices still aren’t set in stone yet with just a soft launch menu, their main selling point is obviously their outrageously wallet-friendly caffeine options. Whether you enjoy the robust kick of a cup of Black or the creamy comfort a cup of White provides, both options only set you back a mere S$3 here.

That’s a price tag not normally found at many speciality coffeehouses around Singapore, especially in Good Intentions’ trendy neighbourhood of Katong. If you want it iced, it costs S$1 more to add some chill to your caffeine, and substituting oat milk for dairy also costs S$1, whereas an extra shot will cost you S$2.

For food options, you have some very bar-grub-esque brunch options available such as Bangers & Mash (S$16) and Fish & Chips (S$18). If you want to dive into something messier, they also have burgers from gourmet burger specialist Bergs including the unique Rum-ly Special (S$15) with rum mustard.

And if you need a helping hand from our dearest friend to let the creative juices flow, they have many craft beers on tap, mainly from local brewers sick Brewlander, Off Day Beer Co., and Beer Project. You can also get cocktails if that’s more your beat, showcasing fun twists on classics with creations like the Osmanthus Negroni (S$16) and Burnt Butter Espresso Martini (S$16).
