It doesn’t take much to convince me to try something new—it just has to look good in photographs, and you can count me in. It’s for that reason why Kantan by the SIB’S caught my eye at once with their vibrant nasi kerabu in the prettiest shade of blue. Located in the heart of Golden Mile Complex, the newly opened stall boasts hearty platters that are sure to pack a flavour-filled punch.

Kantan by the SIB’S best-selling item on the menu is the Ayam Goreng Berempah (S$4.50/S$5.50). Think crunchy fried chicken deep-fried and crisp to a T, paired with aromatic blue pea rice made with fresh herbs and lemongrass.

Their rice platters are served with fresh sambalbudu, fish floss, and fresh salad. What you choose to add on to substantiate your meal is 100% up to you. There’s no shortage of variety here at Kantan by the SIB’S—if you’re not in the mood for deep-fried food, they’ve got Honey Grilled Chicken (S$4.50/S$6.50) and Percik Grilled Chicken (S$4.50/S$6.50) that’ll leave you full and happy.

If beef is more your thing, Kantan by the SIB’S has two variations, both more tantalising than the other. Take your pick from Tiger Tears Beef (S$5/S$7), with beef brisket or tenderloin served with a sweet, sour, and spicy dipping sauce, or the Original Grilled Beef (S$5/S$7), infused with herbs and spices before it’s grilled to tender perfection.

This new stall might be a hidden gem at the moment, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see crowds forming and patrons coming back time and again for their serving of nasi kerabu.
