Known to serve one of the best martabak in Singapore, Smile Martabak has opened their 3rd outlet in Bedok Mall, having held their grand opening on 14 Apr 2023.

For those unaware, martabak are classified into 2 types: Martabak Manis — thick pancake topped with various versatile toppings or Martabak Telur — crispy pancakes loaded with savoury ingredients like meat and eggs.

Looking at the pictures Smile Martabak posts online, it is not difficult to see the reason behind their popularity. And now, the folks at Bedok can give this place a try!

At Smile Martabak, popular options would be the sweet manis Original Choco-cheese (S$5.95 for 3 pieces, S$19.30 for 10 pieces) and savoury telur Martabak Chicken (S$9.25 for 6 piecesS$17.95 for 12 pieces).

Personally, I am eyeing the Pandan Cheese Milk, which makes for a rather intriguing combo. The description of the moist pandan pancake combined with sweet condensed milk and cheddar cheese completely won me over.

There are even mains like Bakso Meatball Soup (S$7.90) for those who desire something more substantial than martabak alone. Add-ons are available for those looking for personal customisations.

However, this Bedok outlet is the first cafe that Smile Martabak has ever opened, with the other 2 being kiosks. Thus, there will be a more spacious seating area, offering a higher seating capacity. The place also looks rather inviting, with comfy cushion seats and a bright yellow colour scheme.

Many folks are especially psyched at the location, happy that they no longer need to take the train to City Hall. On the other hand, some comments humorously pleaded for an outlet in the west or north. Perhaps, some time in the future?

It is safe to say that there would be a crowd at Bedok Mall on 14 Apr 2023, with folks eager to try out Smile Murtabak’s treats. It would be a shame to miss out on those martabaks. Even I am motivated to go!
