Having opened at their third location at Seng Poh Road only just 1 year ago, Mr & Mrs Nasi Lemak is to cease operations yet again on 27 Jun 2023.
It was truly disheartening news, considering their booming popularity. I’m sure many folks did not see it coming, since their new location had only just started running.
Why are they closing a second time? This is because the coffee shop Mr & Mrs Nasi Lemak was located decided to close, leaving the husband-wife owners with no choice but to cease their operations. Ironically enough, this was the same reason for their closure at their first location at French Road.
The couple thanked customers for their support throughout their 2 years of operations. Through the stall’s social media announcement, many customers have also wished them with best wishes and never ending support during this difficult time.
As of the announcement on 18 Apr 2023, the owners mentioned that they’ll take a break before considering if they want to reopen at another location. Comments on their post remain hopeful of such a possibility.
No matter the result, there is no doubt that many adore their nasi lemak. Their authentic coconut rice is said to be to die for, with a strong coconut taste that’s hard to resist. Let’s not forget about their homemade chilli, which they make on the sweeter side!
For those who enjoy toppings, this stall offers uncommon ones not usually in a nasi lemak stall. Have you ever had Kawa Ebi (S$4) or Bacon and Mushroom (S$1.80) with nasi lemak?
So, as Mr & Mrs Nasi Lemak prepare for their departure, we wish for them to have a good rest before making the final call. For the folks who want to patronise the stall, be sure to be there before it’s too late!
