Ready to dine in style? A new restaurant, Galangal, has just opened in Bishan, and if you’re a lover of all things pink, floral and pretty, you’ll definitely want to pay a visit soon.
Galangal is a Thai restaurant that opened on 16 May 2023 within Bishan Clubhouse. When you step inside, you’ll be greeted by its beautiful pink interior and flower-covered walls.
The restaurant serves up authentic Thai dishes at standard restaurant prices, with classic favourites such as tom yum, fried rice and Thai milk tea.
Dig into Galangal’s appetisers, including the refreshing Green Mango Salad (S$6.90++), made with shredded green mangoes, fried sliced codfish, roasted peanuts, chilli flakes and onions, or the Thai Prawn Cakes (S$7.50++ for 3 pieces), which are prawn paste patties mixed with Thai herbs and spices.
Enjoy a hearty meal with Galangal’s Red Tom Yum Soup, which comes with the options of Chicken (S$12.90++for small, S$15.90++ for large) or Seafood (S$14.90++ for small, S$17.90++ for large). There’s also Prawn Pad Thai (S$12.90++/S$15.90++) for those who prefer stir-fried noodles.
Rice lovers can choose from 4 types of fried rice, including Pineapple Fried Rice (S$12.90++/S$15.90++), Tom Yum Fried Rice (S$12.90++/S$15.90++), Prawn Fried Rice (S$11.90++/S$14.90++) and Sambal Goreng Fried Rice (S$12.90++/S$15.90++).
If you’re dining with friends or family, how about getting some dishes to share? The Crispy Fish w Thai Chilli Sauce (S$32.90++) is a good option that features a deep-fried seabass drizzled with spicy Thai chilli sauce. There’s also the Thai Basil Chicken (S$11.90++/S$15.90++), Deep-Fried Tofu w Sweet Thai Chilli Sauce (S$6.90++/S$8.90++) and Prawn Omelette Egg (S$9.90++/S$11.90++) to cater to diners with different tastes.
As a lover of all things sweet, I am personally drawn to Galangal’s stunning selection of iced coffees, including the Caramel Cookie Frappe (S$9.90++), Passionfruit Sparkling Americano (S$8.90++) and Banana Choco Frappe (S$9.90++). Delicious!
