Fort Canning Big Prawn Noodle under Block 119 Aljunied Avenue 2 opened to a full house on 18 Oct. It would be easy to say they could consider their first day a great success. They even old out part-way on the day and needed time to restock.

Even outside of their launch, they still do get filled seats if you by a post by Fort Canning Big Prawn Noodle. Despite being the new arrival in the area, they seem to be a hit. The noodle shop themselves even released a recent notice on their Facebook page saying that they are currently looking to hire as well, which makes sense when you consider the influx of customers.

A hearty bowl of Jumbo Prawn Noodle of their regular size from them is S$6.50 for both soup and dry versions. You can even have additional ingredients, like adding some Pig Tail (S$2.50 for 6 pieces) to your bowl. If you’d like something more, they offer a large under the same name that comes for S$12.80.

They also offer something called the Royal Jumbo Prawn Noodle (S$28.80) that comes with Abalones and LaLa as well. These two are on the shop’s signature list. Other variations of these two dishes range from S$18 to S$22.

The owners boast the flavours to be authentically 1960s. They have also said that they source only fresh prawns for their Prawn Mee.

Those who have dropped by for a bite also say they don’t believe it’s the frozen  store-bought type. Customers also typically praise their rich broth and you can even ask for free refills of their soup!

Considering the higher price note of anything aside from the Jumbo Prawn Noodles, it would be up to your taste to see if you think it’s worth the cost. Maybe you’d like the soup refills or their side dishes?
