The pastry and dessert cafe, Dolç Patisserie, has announced that it will be permanently closing after almost 4 years of operations at its Kampong Bahru store.
Dolç Patisserie made the announcement via their Instagram page. According to the post, the bakery would have their last day of operations on 23 Apr 2024, and while no reason was given for the closure, the bakery expressed their gratitude for the love and support that they’ve received from their customers.
Fans expressed their heartbreak over the loss of the cafe, with many thanking the bakers for their excellent pastries and bakes.
I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Dolç Patisserie in the past, and was wow-ed by their beautiful tarts, each of which was intricately crafted and decorated. Tarts you can expect to find include the Fruit Tart (S$9), filled with crème patisserie and topped with assorted fruits, the unique Calamansi Tart (S$9), which offers a bright and piquant flavour, and the Passionfruit Meringue Tart (S$9), filled with sweet and sour passionfruit curd.
Dolç Patisserie also offers amazing cakes, like Mango Cheese (S$9), which is endearingly shaped like a wedge of cheese, and the gorgeous Charlotte (S$10), a teardrop-shaped cake made with mascarpone mousse, basil sponge and strawberry compote.
When you pay your final visits to the bakery, be sure to grab a few of their viennoiseries, too— donut fans should try the Custard Donut or Chocolate Donut, both of which cost S$5. The Cherry Crumble Danish (S$6) and Berries Danish (S$6) are both beautiful and delicious, to delight your eyes and your tastebuds.
Dolç Patisserie is just one of the many cafes to close in recent months, with the most similar example being Nuage Boulangerie, which was also situated along Kampong Bahru Road before it shuttered in Mar 2023. We wish the owners of Dolç Patisserie success in their future endeavours!
