If you’ve spent any time on TikTok or Instagram, you’ve probably seen Simon — the passionate Brit behind The Great Chase — preaching the gospel of halal food and firing back at critics who questioned the place of halal dining in the UK with his signature wit.

After years of turning naysayers into believers, he’s finally expanding — and where better to plant his next flag than Malaysia, a country that practically lives and breathes halal dining?

The Great Chase isn’t just another viral restaurant riding the coattails of social media fame. In London, it’s an award-winning name synonymous with hearty British classics and a no-compromise halal philosophy.

No grey areas — no alcohol is sold, and every ingredient is sourced halal-certified.

Now, Malaysians can finally get a taste of it. The Great Chase was to officially open its doors on 21 Sep 2025 at Publika Mall, which feels like the natural choice for such a debut.

However, due to recent technical issues, it has been delayed for now. Keep an eye on their socials for updates!

The menu is the kind of comforting-meets-classic British spread that could make even the stiffest upper lip quiver with anticipation. Make way for their famous Sunday Roasts, available in beef (RM80), lamb (RM130), or chicken (RM58)

You can’t say British without the juicy and blushing Beef Wellington (RM170). Joining the lineup is the perfectly Charred Seabass (RM68) for those leaning towards seafood.

What about their desserts? No British meal is truly complete without Sticky Toffee Pudding (RM28). The KL outpost comes with its own local exclusives too, like Tom’s Teh Tarik Panna Cotta (RM25) and Pengat Pisang Semifreddo (RM23).

As for JAKIM halal certification, no official word just yet. But The Great Chase has teased the probability of them doing so recently on Instagram. It seems only a matter of time before the paperwork catches up.

So here we are! London’s most talked-about halal British restaurant, The Great Chase, has landed in Kuala Lumpur and is ready for you. In true British fashion, it’s asking you to pull up a chair, tuck in, and stay a while.
