Calling all fitspos and Apple users! Apple Fitness+ is finally coming to Singapore on 15 Dec, bringing a premium service for fitness and wellness enthusiasts to our shores. Here’s what you need to know.

Subscription-based service

The first thing you might wonder is how much Apple Fitness+ costs. Since it is a subscription service, you can opt for either a monthly payment model of S$9.98 per month or an annual model of S$79 per year

What is great about this service is that it can be shared with up to 5 other family members. So you can not just share the subscription fee, but plan group workout sessions together to stay fit and bonded as a family!

Another question you might have is why you would want to subscribe to Apple Fitness+. What does it give you that the existing Fitness app doesn’t? I would say the answers are curation and convenience.

One of the main features you can access through Apple Fitness+ is a catalogue of workouts, ranging from 5-minute exercises to 45-minute sessions. There are also 12 categories you can choose from, such as Cycling, HIIT, and Pilates. These workouts are like a huge library of fitness and wellness content presented in 4K Ultra HD quality, with new sessions added weekly.

If you want to work out but don’t have the time or motivation to plan your own routine, Custom Plans will give you personalised recommendations based on your favourite activities. So instead of procrastinating on what exercise to do, you can just jump right into one.

Seamless & fun experience

With Apple Fitness+, you will also get additional stat-tracking features. If you’re using Apple Watch or AirPods Pro 3, live metrics such as your heart rate and calories burned are shared in real-time to your iPhone, iPad or Apple TV.

This gives you useful information as you’re working out, so you’ll stay on track in closing those Activity rings. Afterwards, the data is synced with the rest of your daily activity.

If you’re looking for more motivation to do a certain routine or take that much-needed walk, you can also look to Artist Spotlights and Time to Walk. The former dedicates entire workout playlists to some of the world’s biggest artistes, including Taylor Swift, BTS and Coldplay. The latter is Apple’s award-winning audio experience, in which some of the world’s influential people share their stories.

If having Cynthia Erivo in your ear makes you want to defy gravity, or listening to F1 driver Yuki Tsunoda inspires you to speed up your walk, you now have the option to do so!
