Hokkien Mee lovers, please take note that YouFu Hokkien Mee closes its Woodlands outlet on 28 Apr.

Andre, the owner, announced the closure of the Woodlands outlet through a Facebook and Instagram post.
While he did not disclose the reason for the closure, he did say that he would be at the Woodlands outlet on the last day to serve his regular customers hokkien mee.
Andre first started helping out at his father’s workplace, Changi Village Fried Hokkien Mee, where he was later mentored by his father. The popularity of his stall was boosted when Andre was awarded the Young Hawker Award, commending the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit of hawkers.
His menu is simple, with only Hokkien Mee (S$6 for Small, S$8 for Large). If you like, you can even add on a Stir-Fried Egg for S$0.80. The price has not changed much from the last time we went to visit him at his Golden Mile Food Centre outlet, with only the removal of the S$5 option.

The hokkien mee here has a heavy wok-hei taste, and a good amount of broth, which is not only rich, but flavourful as well. The amount of ingredients you get for either portion is worth noting, as the pork lard is plentiful and scattered all over the dish, crispy and light.
Diners rave about the strong, fiery kick that his sambal chilli adds to the dish, complementing the savouriness of the hokkien mee.
With a 4.0 rating on Google reviews at the time of writing, it is certain he will be missed once he ceases operations and moves out of Woodlands. Before YouFu Hokkien Mee closes officially, come down on his last day to show him some support, and have authentic hokkien mee personally cooked by him!
