The first thing you’ll notice at the refreshed hawker centre is the brightly lit environment. Previously, some areas of the hawker centre were too dark (image on left), especially on cloudy and rainy days. With new light fittings installed (image on right), the hawker centre looks much more vibrant!

In Singapore’s humid environment, ventilation is crucial for both diners and hawkers. That’s why the revamp also features additional fans along the dining areas and new motors and fans for the cooking stalls’ exhaust system.

To improve cleanliness, you’ll also see more netting around the tray return areas to deter birds and rodents from entering. Other upgrades include refreshed tiling, new tables and stools, improved roof opening design to minimise rain splashing, and wheelchair-friendly areas.

As of 1 Jul, most of the food and drink stalls have already reopened, so you’ll be able to return to your favourite hawker stalls in a cleaner and more welcoming environment.

If you rarely visit the food centre but would like to drop by, we recommend Fried Carrot Cake at #01-45. The stall is ranked top among our recommended stalls here, and has long queues forming daily. Fried Carrot Cake sells their carrot cake in 2 variations: black and white, and you can select between Small (S$4), Medium (S$5), and Large (S$6). Don’t miss out on this gem!

Iif you’re in a rush and don’t have time to queue, there are many other stalls for you to choose from.

I can't cook, but I can eat and tell you if the food is good. I love almost everything that goes with coriander, spring onions or vinegar, but absolutely hate ginger and garlic.
