If Hello Kitty, Kuromi and Cinnamoroll went on a beach holiday, this is probably what they’d bring home. Sanrio’s most beloved characters are getting a sun-kissed makeover this August, with MINISO bringing its Sanrio Sun-Kissed Pop-up Store to Pavilion KL.
Expect beachy colours, summer-themed designs and plenty of cute merch featuring the characters we already know and love.
The pop-up will take over Pavilion KL’s Centre Court from 31 Aug to 6 Sep 2026, before the Sun-Kissed collection heads to IOI City Mall, Putrajaya from 21 to 30 Sep.
There’s plenty to browse if you’re a Sanrio fan, including Kuromi plush keychains, Hello Kitty beach bags and Cinnamoroll bracelets. You’ll also find puzzle sets showing the Sanrio gang enjoying a day at the beach, along with a Hello Kitty x Cinnamoroll umbrella, sun-kissed Hello Kitty hats and clogs in matching brown tones.
For those who prefer their Sanrio characters extra huggable, there’ll also be blind vinyl plushes and cushions up for grabs. Basically, there’s enough here to make a quick “just looking” trip dangerous.
If you’re hoping to score some freebies, 31 August is the date to remember. MINISO will be offering exclusive gifts and fan discounts on a first-come, first-served basis, with fans encouraged to start lining up from 10am.
The Sanrio pop-up also happens to land on Malaysia’s National Day, so it could easily be part of a public holiday day out at Pavilion KL. Just expect bigger crowds, especially if you’re after limited-edition goodies or promotional gifts.
Even if you’re not a hardcore collector, the summer-inspired designs make this a cute excuse to swing by, browse the collection and maybe find a little Sanrio companion for your next beach day.
