Sad news: Singapore Land Group just announced the closure of Marina Square Shopping Mall on 31 Mar 2027. This is to make way for redevelopment to reposition the area as Singapore’s first hyper-mixed development by 2031.

Marina Square Shopping Mall sits alongside 3 iconic hotels — Pan Pacific Singapore, PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, Singapore and Mandarin Oriental. The redevelopment plan will integrate 3 new towers alongside these hotels. Meanwhile, the 4-storey mall itself will undergo a comprehensive asset enhancement initiative and act as the central link between the new spaces.

This will create new spaces for the public and support continued growth of the site. The new spaces include luxury residences, serviced apartments, premium offices and parks, as well as arts and sports centres. “We are creating a new ecosystem where people can live, work, stay and connect,” said Jonathan Eu, Chief Executive Officer of SingLand.

The 3 new towers will consist of a new 304-key hotel, a 260-key serviced apartment tower and a 49-storey residential building. Therefore, these new additions will cater to a more diverse range of guests and visitors.

The new 19-storey mixed-use block will house the hotel from levels 4 to 10. Meanwhile, offices will occupy levels 12 to 19. A separate 24-storey building will house the serviced apartments

The 49-storey residential tower will feature 204 luxury homes, with apartments ranging from 3- to 5-bedroom units and penthouses.

These renovations will refresh Marina Square Shopping Mall with more food and beverage options, along with sports, wellness and lifestyle stores. Plus, the revamped mall will also feature landscaped and pet-friendly areas.

The mall will act as the heart of the new site, connecting visitors to the wider precinct through routes and links. The redevelopment also reflects growing demand for spaces that bring together shopping, leisure, wellness and community activities.

Before closing on 31 Mar 2027 for construction, the mall will continue to host events and activities to attract more visitors and support retailers. Meanwhile, the 3 existing hotels in the vicinity will remain fully operational throughout the redevelopment period. The project is slated for completion by 2031.
