Tired of the hype going around about the Texas Chicken bag? Popular duck stall Ah Xiao Teochew Braised Duck at Golden Mile Food Centre will be giving away adorable duck bags to customers on 30 Apr 2023.
We have probably caught a glimpse of the viral Texas Chicken chicken bag, thanks to the equally famous staff mistreatment incident. Well, it seems that even hawker stalls are catching onto the gossip and using such news as a clever marketing strategy.
Ah Xiao Teochew Braised Duck may not not be an unfamiliar name, considering its renowned figure in the hawker industry. Having been featured on Singapore Foodie and Miss Tam Chiak, it’s clear that Ah Xiao has quite the prestige!
Having served braised duck since the 1990s, the stall is now run by second-generation hawker Rui Hui who took over the stall about 14 years ago. Fun fact: the second stall located at Bendemeer Market and Food Centre is run by his brother!
The duck bag is just a small token as compared to Ah Xiao’s braised duck. Incredibly tender and succulent, the braised meat has an irresistible flavour thanks to its godly herbal sauce.
Announcing the news on their Facebook page, Ah Xiao Teochew Braised Duck will be giving the bags to whoever spends a minumum of S$21.90 at their stall. Folks, do note that there will be extremely limited quantity (especially compared to Texas Chicken’s supply).
From the news, it is announced that only 30 bags will be up for grabs. Not to mention, 1 person is only limited to 1 bag so as to let everyone get a chance.
However, the stall did mention that a restock would be done, with news to be released later on. So, no need to be too disheartened if you were to miss the upcoming opportunity! May the odds be in your favour, and a duck (not the food) will follow you home!
