Anime Festival Asia 2023 will be premiering the JUJUTSU KAISEN Experience & more

Hey, Japan-mania fans! Mark your calendars for 24 to 26 Nov. This year’s Anime Festival Asia (AFA) held at Singapore’s Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre has something special in store.  As one of Crunchyroll’s first ventures into Southeast Asia, they are sponsoring events like The JUJUTSU KAISEN Experience and the SACRA Music Festival.

Both AFA and Crunchyroll need no introduction to the average anime fan but here’s a quick refresher. Held across Southeast Asia, AFA opens a series of conventions several times a year. AFA is not just for J-culture fans but the geek community in general – anyone who’s into gaming and comics, too. Crunchyroll is a major streaming site specifically for Japanese animation and anime-inspired content.

Back to what Crunchyroll is helping to bring to AFA, starting with the aforementioned JUJUTSU KAISEN Experience. It will be the attraction’s premiere in Southeast Asia. It gives viewers a chance to be immersed in key moments of the popular manga and anime of the same name. No spoilers, of course – you’ll have to check it out for yourself.

Concerts are always a big deal at AFA and Crunchyroll is backing a major one. They are the main sponsors for the SACRA Music Festival that will be happening on 26 Nov. The concert will feature performances by FLOW and ASCA as well as a special appearance by Nami Tamaki.

Another highlight is the presence at the AKIBA Stage. The complete schedule and list of guests is yet to be revealed, but do keep your eyes peeled on the website for listings. In general, thanks to Crunchyroll’s hand in it, we will be getting first-hand news about developments in anime streaming, events, films, games and merchandise.

That’s just a taste of what to expect at AFA 2023, with updates and events still being added here the closer we get to the festival. Tickets are still available but stuff like the AFA x Hololive Meet tickets have already sold out. So, if you’re eyeing specifics like stage access, best act now.
