For those staying around Jalan Besar, I’m sure most of you are already bored of the food options available at Berseh Food Centre. Why not swing by next door to Big Besar Foodhub where 9 food stalls greet you?

Situated at New World Centre where Sheng Siong Supermarket is, this air-conditioned food court recently celebrated its grand opening in Jan 2026, though it had already opened its doors in October last year. What kind of food options are available here? Let me get right to it!

Open 24 hours, Uncle Bu Mala Tang 大叔黏糊麻辣烫 doesn’t sell your usual mala tang where the gravy is watery. Instead, the broth here is full-bodied, rich, and sticky, coating every ingredient like a warm glove.

There are a total of 3 flavours for you to choose from — Mala Tang Sticky Spicy, Mala Tang Traditional Flavour, and Mala Tang Tomato Flavour — all going for S$3.18 per 100g. There’s also fried skewers and mala xiang guo.

For a taste closer to home, the latter has local favourites such as Signature Laksa (S$6.30), Signature Bak Chor Mee (S$6.80 for dry/soup), and Signature Chilli Ban Mian (S$6).

For zi char options, Fu Sheng Food Stall has around 80 types of dishes. There are seafood options like Japanese Oysters (S$2.80 per piece), Crab Bee Hoon (Seasonal Price), and Oatmeal Shrimp (S$16/S$24). Meat fans can go for Lemon chicken (S$18), Volcano Spare Ribs (S$32), and Shrimp Paste Chicken (S$10/S$16). To complement your meal, you can order the Mapo Tofu Rice Bowl (S$7), Dry Fried Beef Noodles (S$8), and Seafood Rice Noodles (S$8).
To find out what other makan options there are, pay a visit to Big Besar Foodhub if you’re in the neighbourhood.
