Every year, a group of steak ambassadors visit renowned steak restaurants on every continent, where they decide which establishments deserve to be on the list of the World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants. Well, guess what? Singapore’s Bistecca Tuscany Steakhouse at Mohamed Sultan Road managed to earn a coveted spot, ranking #38 out of 101 spots. Hurrah!

But wait, I’m not finished. This steak restaurant is also regarded to be the best in Asia— steady la! This is actually the 4th time that Bistecca Tuscany Steakhouse has secured its place among the globe’s crème de la crème. It clinched the #23 spot in 2023, #21 in 2022, and #18 in 2019.

I’m absolutely ecstatic that Singapore boasts at least 1 steakhouse that can carve its way onto the holy grail of steaks list!

The ranking of the World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants is overseen by Upper Cut Media House based in London, UK. Firstly, 2 to 4 steak ambassadors will visit and rate the chosen restaurants unannounced, then a second taste test is carried out by their executive team before a final decision is made.

Meat quality in terms of taste, marbling, cut and preparation as well as the selection of meats and quantity of steak cuts offered are just 2 out of the 8 main criteria used for the evaluation.

The Italian steakhouse is housed within a charming century-old shophouse alongside The English House and the now-defunct Rakuya (I’m heartbroken that they’ve closed). You can choose to sit by the Chef’s table and have front row seats to the open-design kitchen or get cosy in one of the leather booths.

If you’re having a private event or party, you can also head up to La Soffitta on level 2 which is a delightful space that caters for up to 30 pax.

If you’re dining in a group, aim for their Signature Sharing Beef Steaks. The steaks are F1 Kuroge Washu bred Wagyu that belongs to the Tajima cattle bloodline. They are grain fed for over 420 days with marble score 6 from Australia, and are served thick cut in a traditional Tuscan manner.

The steaks are lightly seasoned with their housemade salt and are then grilled over woodfire.

Choose from the 900g Costata Signature Bone-in Ribeye (S$188) which is juicier and has higher marbling, or the 1.1kg Fiorentina Signature T-bone (S$240) that’s leaner and softer.
