Goodbyes are not forever. Goodbyes only last for a week with Cake Spade. Good news, Cake Spade is not closing, and in fact, they will be relocating!

Our recent announcement came immediately after Cake Spade publicised the closure of their well-loved stall, which was nearing their 10th anniversary. They bid their farewells and announced that the iconic pink building at 283 South Bridge Road would be ceasing its operations on 7 Feb 2023.
Shortly after, their social media page announced that there was a new bakehouse in the works, and it was revealed that they would be reopening near their original location in Tanjong Pagar on 14 Feb 2023. It’s great to know that our cries were not in vain, and they are reciprocating our love for their cakes with the continuation of the store— and on Valentines’s Day too! A perfect gift for all of us.

For 9 years, they’ve rooted themselves at the old location of Orchid Hotel. Decked with an interior of neon lights, one of them even states, “I want it all”. Cake Spade is extremely direct to expose my greed because I really want all the cakes on display.
Personally, I’ve been a fan and followed them since I was in my teens. They were one of the pioneer contemporary cake shops, so when they opened up then, they sold like hot cakes. However, the mention of its closure could probably be due to the unforeseen circumstances that the Covid-19 climate has put everyone in.

Sad news aside, I can’t wait to devour the array of decadent bakes that Cake Spade has to offer. Some personal recommendations would be the Strawberry Tofu Cheesecake (S$7.90 per slice)— an OG flavour since the start. This unbaked cheesecake is awfully delicious because of its silky texture from the cream cheese that is topped off with a strawberry jello. If you’re afraid of getting anything too sinful, this will definitely help with your sweet tooth without feeling too guilty!
Some other iconic flavours include the Mango Charlotte Yogurt Cake (S$9.80), the Golden Gaytime Cake (S$9.80) and the Comic Cake (S$9.80). Each cake includes lots of effort and creativity of mixing ingredients to bake up their delicious creations.
Come over to their new stall to try it all out. Their space is great for family and friends to catch up over dessert!
