Dim sum fans in Selangor, this one’s worth marking on your calendar. Ipoh’s popular halal dim sum brand Canning Dim Sum is opening its first Selangor outlet in Bangi, serving customers from 21 Jun 2026 onwards.

Originally founded in Ipoh’s Canning Garden by Nang Yu Chuan and Ceylyn Tay, the homegrown brand has built a loyal following since opening its first outlet in 2018. Known for putting a modern spin on traditional dim sum while keeping it halal, Canning Dim Sum is one of Ipoh’s most talked-about dining spots.

The menu is packed with everything from classic steamed favourites to creative signature creations. Some of the crowd-pleasers include the Shanghai Chicken Broth Dumpling, Shrimp Mai, Crystal Shrimp Dumpling, Scallop Dumpling, and the colourful Butterfly Pea Dumpling series.
