If you’re a steak lover like me, you might want to keep your eyes peeled for Charr’d, a new halal steakhouse which recently soft-launched on 1 Mar 2023 along Changi Road.

Brought to you by the same team behind another steakhouse, Tomahawk King, Charr’d is the only restaurant in Singapore to buy and import whole A5 wagyu cows from the Mie Prefecture in Japan.

The Mei Prefecture provides a mild climate and rich natural environment for the cows to be raised in, which translates to the prized A5 Kuroge Wagyu beef, said to be one of the best-tasting wagyu for its fat, which is the source of the beef’s flavour.

There are many ways to enjoy your wagyu— you can have them as starters in the form of A5 Wagyu Cubes (S$19), which comes with shimeji mushrooms and baby spinach. You also have them as your mains with options like A5 Sirloin (S$38)A5 Ribeye (S$48) and A5 Tenderloin ($58).

For a fuss-free group meal, you can also opt for the Heavenly Meat Board (S$198) which has Australian Grain-Fed Hangar Steak, Wagyu SirloinWagyu Ribeye and Wagyu Fillet. It also comes with 2 choices of sauce options like Chimichurri, Wasabi Mayo, Ghost Peppercorn Mayo and House Bearnaise.

If you’re not into beef, you can opt for their Charr’D Lamb Rack (S$38) and Charr’D Salmon (S$22).

Of course, no good steakhouse is without its sides, and Charr’d has a decent selection such as Truffle Fries (S$13)Cream’D Moonlight Spinach (S$13), Mentaiko Jojos (S$12) and Charr’D Broccoli (S$12).

Wash it all down with their range of mocktails such as The Greenhouse Effect (S$12), a green apple and elderflower soda combination, and First Glimmer of Dawn (S$12), which is a mixture of red grapefruit, osmanthus, lemon juice, ginger ale and mint.

Well, wagyu waiting for?
