Bring about this year’s festive season with Christmas Wonderland 2024! Singapore’s biggest Yuletide fair will be returning to Gardens by the Bay from 29 Nov to 1 Jan 2025, between 6.30pm and 11pm.
This festival is a burst of light, sound and colour as droves of Singaporeans come together to celebrate the festive season. There are food stalls, live music and various game booths scattered across Gardens by the Bay. If you’re looking to purchase last-minute Christmas gifts, there is also a festive market selling different kinds of merchandise.
Remembering my time during last year’s festive season, I was lacking something special for my friend’s Secret Santa gift. At Christmas Wonderland, I managed to get my hands on a music box. It played one of the songs from Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away (2001). As a Ghibli fan, she loved it.
At Christmas Wonderland, the entirety of Supertree Grove will be bathed in light from multiple light displays for an entire month. Right at the heart of it all stands the 20-metre-tall Spalliera. It is a giant structure that illuminates the fair with amazing light and sound shows daily.
This Spalliera is also where the highlight of the festival takes place — Blizzard Time.
A rare delight for our tropical region, snow will fall accompanied by choral music. This year, it will be to “Magic of Christmas” by Dr. Darius Lim, a Singaporean composer-conductor. Watching as the snow falls all at once is truly a magical experience.
Tickets for the event are already on sale. For children, the tickets stay at S$7. Adult and senior Advance tickets are S$9, S$11, and S$13. Same-day tickets are S$11, S$13, and S$15.
Ticket prices depend on the week you intend to go and are most expensive during Christmas week.
