Are you still celebrating Chinese New Year (CNY) or looking for ways to extend the festivities with your family? Mandai Wildlife Reserve might be the place for you as it welcomes visitors to Gallop into a Horse-picious New Year!
Festive Presentations

From 17 Feb to 3 Mar, a range of Lunar New Year celebrations will take place throughout the wildlife reserve. Firstly, there will be Festive Presentations at the Singapore Zoo, River Wonders and Bird Paradise.
You will get to witness the animals bringing their huat energy daily at different time slots. For example, you can watch an African grey parrot present ‘lucky numbers’ for the year, a Sulphur-crested cockatoo deliver an auspicious red packet, and a flock of macaws gather mandarin oranges.
Festive Star Animal Enrichment

At different timings throughout the day, you can also spot animals exploring and feasting on CNY-themed enrichment. The newest zebra foal at Wild Africa, Singapore Zoo, can be spotted at 10.15am and 2.15pm daily, searching through hanging treats and firecracker-inspired devices.
The Indian Rhino at Leopard Trail, Night Safari, will appear between 7pm and 12am, looking for food hidden inside bamboo firecrackers and large, hanging red packets. The Malayan Tapir at Watering Hole, Rainforest Wild ASIA can also be found at 10.30am and 3.30pm, exploring similar festive snacks.
Festive Activities

The highlight of the CNY celebrations at Mandai Wildlife Reserve is definitely some of the Festive Activities. For instance, Hello From The Wild: Horse Edition at KidzWorld, Singapore Zoo, invites visitors to get up close with adorable falabellas.
As you interact with these small, friendly horses, the keepers and guides will also share insights into their behaviour and personality. This experience requires booking and will cost an additional S$43 per person. Having a WildPass or Friends of Mandai membership will also get you a 10% or 20% discount, respectively. Find out more here.
Aside from the festive-themed animal interactions mentioned, there are also a series of performances and promotions happening at Mandai Wildlife Reserve. To check out all the CNY celebrations, visit their official website.
