If you want to relive all the glitz and glamour from the Crazy Rich Asians film, you might not have to rewatch it on a streaming site like Netflix. Fans may soon be able to watch Crazy Rich Asians on television on the American pay-TV network Home Box Office (HBO).

Casey Bloys, chairman and Chief Executive Officer of HBO and Max content, shared this in an exclusive interview with U.S. magazine Variety.

Bloys also revealed that other properties, such as the supernatural horror film franchise “The Conjuring” and DC Comics’ superhero flick “Green Lantern”, were being similarly developed.

When will the Crazy Rich Asians show air on HBO?

Bloys did not disclose details, including when the Crazy Rich Asians TV show would air. It is in such early stages that not even a timeline is available. Fans of the film will still take this as some good news as plans for a sequel have so far not panned out.

Crazy Rich Asians is a 2018 American romantic comedy-drama based on the novel of the same title by Kevin Kwan. It stars Henry Golding and Constance Wu in the lead roles.

The film tells the tale of a rich man taking his Chinese-American girlfriend home to Singapore to meet his family. The twist? The girl doesn’t know that her boyfriend is rich.

Crazy Rich Asians received rave reviews and was a success at the box office. Shortly after it aired, the film clinched the title of the highest-grossing romantic comedy of the past decade.

In Singapore, where the film is set, Crazy Rich Asians topped the box office in its first week. The film grossed S$2.5 million, which is considered unusually high.
