If Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is your usual go-to for catching the latest blockbuster, there’s a small change happening. Dadi Cinema has permanently closed its Pavilion KL outlet, ending its run at the Bukit Bintang mall after about 5 years of operation

The cinema’s last day of operations was on 4 Mar 2026, with the outlet officially shutting its doors from 5 Mar 2026 onwards.

The announcement was shared through the cinema’s social media channels on 4 Mar, where the management described the decision as a difficult one following the end of its tenancy at Pavilion KL.

“With heavy hearts, we wish to share that our Pavilion KL outlet will be ceasing operations due to the end of our tenancy,” the statement read.

The team also took the opportunity to thank moviegoers who had supported the cinema over the years, reflecting on the countless memories created inside its halls.

Dadi Cinema first opened its Pavilion KL outlet in 2021, bringing its premium cinema concept from China right into the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s busiest shopping and entertainment district.

The venue quickly became one of the mall’s key entertainment anchors, especially for moviegoers already visiting Pavilion KL for shopping, dining, and nightlife around the Bukit Bintang area.

While the Pavilion KL chapter has now come to an end, the brand isn’t disappearing completely from Malaysia. Dadi Cinema confirmed that its Kedah outlet at Central Square will continue operating as usual, welcoming movie fans there for future screenings.

For those wondering what will happen to the now-vacant cinema space, the transition has already been planned. TGV Cinemas is set to take over the location starting May 2026, ushering in a new phase for Pavilion KL’s movie-going experience.

According to Pavilion KL, the move is part of the mall’s ongoing efforts to refresh its tenant mix and continue working with brands that enhance its overall shopping, dining, and entertainment offerings.

Although Dadi Cinema’s run at Pavilion KL has come to a close, moviegoers won’t have to wait too long before the screens light up again — just under a different name.
