Ciao Roma! Fans of our favourite American in Paris will be thrilled to know that Emily in Paris has just been renewed for Season 5! That’s right, Emily (Lily Collins) isn’t done with Rome just yet as this season will be a continuation of Emily’s adventure in Rome and Paris.

It’s been mere days since the finale of Season 4 has been released with a cliffhanger and plot twist that has left viewers on the edge of their seats. We’ve seen the introduction of Italian heartthrob, Marcello Muratori (Eugenio Franceschini), as well as Emily’s gradual move into an Italian apartment to branch out Agence Grateau in Rome.

However, Netflix has shared that it doesn’t mean the name of the show will be changing. “It doesn’t mean she’s not going to be in Paris, but she’s going to have a presence in Rome,” says creator Darren Star.
Darren also confirms that they will be diving deeper into Emily’s relationship with Marcello in Season 5, saying, “I feel like they have a real spark and a real connection and a real romantic connection. A lot of that’s going to continue to play out next season.”

Of course, we cannot forget on-again-off-again boyfriend Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), who had an epiphany towards the ending of Season 4. Finally realising that he still loves her, Gabriel will now have to deal with the consequences of his choice by ending things with Emily.
More than just Emily’s intriguing love life, Season 5 will also showcase Emily living her life in Rome unapologetically. “We want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her vacay mode. And he comes at that perfect time,” shared main star Lily Collins.
What will it be? Could Emily finally be able to move on from her ex and start anew in Rome, or will she move back to the City of Lights to give her past a second chance? Stay tuned as production is kick off in 2025!
