Most Singaporeans enjoy heading to neighbouring Johor Bahru for a short and quick day trip or even a mini staycation— myself included. And one of my simple pleasures is hunting for a food truck at night to enjoy a lok lok experience under the stars (ahem, I mean lamp posts). Sound familiar? Then you’ll be glad to know that popular Fa Ge Lok Lok has recently opened its first kopitiam stall in Singapore.

Situated within the newly-renovated YIHE Eating House at 638 Veerasamy Road, the stall has an eye-catching motif of a blue food truck resembling the actual ones across the causeway. Fa Ge Lok Lok has been selling lok lok in JB since 2009, making it one of the seasoned vendors around the KSL vicinity.

Yes I know, I know— you’re going to say that the pricing and vibe will definitely lose out to the real deal in Johor Bahru. But who would say no to the convenience of a new lok lok joint in Singapore?

Customers can take their time to choose from over 65 ingredients at just S$1 each. Sink your teeth into options such as Prawns, Bacon-Wrapped Enoki, Beancurd Skin, Crabstick, Roast Pork, Broccoli and more!

If you’re eating healthier, go for the boiled option. Otherwise, go all out and indulge in the crowd-favourite deep-fried version. For the fickle-minded ones, you can have it both ways. You can also dunk your skewers into delicious dips such as Chilli and Peanut.

And since the owner is from Sarawak, you can enjoy a bowl of Plain, Black Sauce or Chilli Kolo Mee for just S$5.

In case you’re craving for lok lok after dinner, do note that Fa Ge Lok Lok stays open till 2am daily. So what are you waiting for? Jio your friends on a mini supper adventure! I’m already making plans.
