New In Town: Fico — Modern Italian restaurant with stunning sea view at East Coast Park

Couldn’t make the getaway to Italy? Fret not for Fico recently opened its doors in East Coast Park to transport you to the Mediterranean.

The restaurant sports a beautiful modern interior reminiscent of Puglia, the Italian hometown of Fico’s Head Chef, Mirko Febbrile. You can enjoy the salty breeze and bask in the beautiful sea view from the outdoor seating of their open-concept design while enjoying your meal.

Helmed by the same masterminds behind Odette and Le Bon Funk, Fico is managed by The Lo & Behold group. The group is known for their unique and creative restaurant concepts, and their stores are renowned for their exceptional customer dining experience.

Led by Chef Mirko, who was previously the head chef of One Michelin Star Braci, we can be sure that Fico will be a new fan-favourite dining spot.

From the menu, the Piennolo Giallo Tomatoes (S$22) and the San Marzano Tomatoes (S$22) focaccina are two definite standouts. Fico’s San Marzano Tomatoes focaccina promises a light and airy yet crispy texture. It is topped with fresh San Marzano tomatoes, mozzerella di bufala, extra virgin olive oil and basil for an explosion of fresh flavours.

Dessert rolls in on the most adorable dessert trolley so you can the view the entire selection of desserts for the day. Take your pick from Fico’s wide variety of desserts for S$14. If you are hungry for more, every additional dessert costs just S$5. For something straightforward, you can opt for the Cannoli which is filled with ricotta and pistachio.

Fico’s Burrata Gelato topped with strawberry, tomato jam, and extra virgin olive oil (yes, you read that right) is sure to hit the spot after an indulgent meal. The classic  combination of buratta, tomato and olive oil never misses the mark on its own, and I’m curious to discover how it fares in a gelato.
