“It’s makan time, what do I want to eat?” I am certain this question pops up in your head daily. We probably get sick and tired of going to the same old places after a while. First world problem, perhaps.

Well, some good news for those who reside at Tanjong Pagar! Muslim-friendly Gila Makan opened its first outlet at 100 AM Mall on 1 June 2022. Similar to the concept of Ion’s Hawker Street, Gila Makan is the brainchild of four friends with food and beverage experience. They wanted to create a new place as Muslim-friendly eateries are very scarce these days.

Gila Makan also collaborates with Social Kitchen (a social enterprise) to employ mentally-challenged individuals who will help out with back-of-the-house operations.
