Ever since its revamp back in May 2017, Kumoya Singapore has been blessing us with fun and kawaii themed pop-up collaborations that are way too cute to resist. After bringing the likes of Sesame Street, Snoopy, and We Bare Bears to our sunny island, the eatery is back to win the hearts of Sanrio fans with their upcoming Gudetama X Bad Badtz-Maru pop-up cafe.

From 30 July – 1 November 2020, Kumoya cafe will be transforming its premises to embrace the moody looking penguin and his fellow Sanrio counterpart, the lazy-egg—Gudetama. The first-ever cross-over collaboration between these two characters in Singapore and Southeast Asia, this Gudetama X Bad Badtz-Maru pop-up cafe will also be adopting the “SingapoLAH!” theme, especially in time to celebrate our nation’s birthday.
Joining hands once again with Little Miss Bento, Shirley Wong, the team has created a series of black and yellow coloured snacks, mains, desserts, and beverages that are all picture-perfect for the ‘gram.

Start off your adventure with Bad Badtz-Maru and Gudetama with the Truffle Chicken Spam Fries (S$14.90) served in a specially designed box that features popular tourist spots such as Gardens by the Bay.

Thereafter, enjoy the Don’t Play Play Double Burger (S$26.90), a dish that consists of two double petite teriyaki chicken cutlet burger, complete with curly fries and a side of fresh garden salad. For a classic Japanese fare, the Relax Lah! Japanese Curry Seafood Rice (S$28.90) will surely satisfy with its fluffy omelette and assorted seafood curry.

End your meal with a serving of Lazy Chocolate Ball of Surprise (S$24.90). Capture the moment on video as you smash open the yellow Gudetama chocolate ball to reveal an array of delicious sweet surprise!
Although the cafe is not halal-certified, Kumoya’s food does not contain any pork, lard, and alcohol. Each dish is also carefully prepared by a team of Muslim staff and ingredients are sourced from halal distributors and suppliers.

Do note that dining time may be limited to 90 minutes during this period and there will be a minimum order of one food or drink per person. Gudetama X Bad Badtz-Maru pop-up cafe will be opening just in time for the Hari Raya Haji and National Day long weekends so, take the opportunity to visit them if you have yet to do so!
