So, when it comes to bak kut teh, are you Team Herbal Style or Team Pepper Style? I’m in the first team and I will almost always choose it if it’s an option. So it made my day after hearing that the beloved Heng Kee Delights Bak Kut Teh, which originates from Bandar Manjalara, Kepong in Kuala Lumpur, has opened their first overseas outlet right here in Geylang.

Located at Guan Guan Kopitiam in 1015 Geylang East Ave 3, the Singapore stall has been set up the same way as the original in Kepong, which has been in operation for over 4 decades.

The recipe for their soup has been passed down through generations, and if you’re not a fan of overly strong herbal flavours, this bak kut teh might be the one for you. Their soup has been described as being rich and slightly sweet, but not overly herbal.
