What’s better than the aroma of fresh coffee on the weekend? The aroma of unlimited free-flow coffee enjoyed from a complimentary mug, of course!
That alone would have put the Weekend Brew Club on my calendar but the roving lifestyle activation has brewed an even more pleasurable series of weekends. Retro tunes, hands-on games and craft workshops — all completely free — are just part of the fun at the 2 upcoming editions at Toa Payoh and Bras Basah in May.
It’s cafe culture, old-school nostalgia and lively communal energy straight into the heartlands, all free.

Rather than being just another pop-up, Weekend Brew Club blends the feel of a neighbourhood gathering with the buzz of a lifestyle festival. Think unlimited coffee pours, free snacks, music, photobooths, games, workshops and plenty of reasons to linger long after your first cup.
Whether you’re heading down with family or friends, or simply looking for something different to do over the weekend, this is one event where there’s genuinely something for everyone.
What to do at Weekend Brew Club: Toa Payoh
The first edition of What to do at Weekend Brew Club lands at Kim Keat Palm in Toa Payoh on 9 & 10 May, from 9am to 3pm, transforming the space into a retro-inspired hangout packed with flavour and fun.

What makes this stop especially appealing is its distinctly local spin. From mahjong-themed games to Nanyang coffee, it taps into the best of local neighbourhood culture while packaging it in a fresh, social format.
Weekend Brew Bar: Free-flow coffee buffet
Coffee lovers should make a beeline for the Weekend Brew Bar, where guests can enjoy an unlimited coffee buffet while stocks last.

2 different coffee players will be serving a mix of traditional Nanyang-style coffee and Western coffee, giving visitors the chance to sample both old-school favourites and cafe-style brews in one sitting.
That alone makes it one of the more unique free activities happening in Singapore this month.
Weekend Brew Games: Mahjong fun without the stakes
Mahjong fans (or anyone who simply loves a little friendly competition) can take part in 2 mahjong-themed mini games. There’s no money involved, just bragging rights and the chance to win exclusive vouchers redeemable at participating merchant stores.
It’s a little nod to classic local culture, where mahjong tables and kopi sessions can often go hand in hand.
Weekend Brew workshops
Those who prefer getting creative can join 3 hands-on workshops and make their own mahjong- and coffee-themed souvenirs.
These interactive stations add a nice change of pace from eating and drinking, and they’re ideal if you’re visiting with children or friends who enjoy craft-style experiences.

Weekend DJ Counter: DJs spinning throwback hits

Across the weekend, 7 DJs will be spinning a mix of Mandopop and 2000s hits, giving the event a feel-good soundtrack from morning till afternoon.
Expect the sort of tunes that instantly transport you back to school days, karaoke nights and simpler times.
More reasons to stay longer
As if unlimited coffee wasn’t enough, Toa Payoh visitors can also enjoy:
- Free snacks, including deep-fried favourites and more
- A photobooth with digital and physical prints
- Exclusive props and themed frames
- Inspiring sharing sessions by 2 stroke survivors discussing their recovery journeys
That final touch adds genuine heart to the event, reminding visitors that community spaces can be uplifting as well as entertaining.
What to do at Weekend Brew Club: Bras Basah
Missed the Toa Payoh run? Or loved it so much you want another? Good news — Weekend Brew Club continues with a second edition at Bras Basah Complex on 15 & 16 May, from 1pm to 7pm.

Known for its old-school charm, books, vinyl stores and nostalgic personality, Bras Basah is a fitting next destination for a concept built around heritage-meets-modern-lifestyle energy.
Visitors can explore 4 main zones and look forward to exclusive activities, including:
- Live busking performances
- Guided tour sessions
- More community-led experiences
- Additional surprises across the venue
If Toa Payoh leans heartland cosy, Bras Basah promises a slightly more artsy and cultural flavour.
How to get Weekend Brew Club tickets
Tickets can be redeemed at participating merchant stores with a minimum spend of S$5, an easy add-on to your usual shopping, meal or café stop. The Toa Payoh edition has already been fully redeemed, but you can still experience the whole slew of events at Bras Basah Complex.
For full details on participating merchants, updates and announcements, visitors can check out Weekend Brew Club on Instagram or visit their website (links below).
Walk-ins are welcome, but note that the coffee buffet and certain activities are strictly limited to ticket holders only.
Who Weekend Brew Club is best for
I think Weekend Brew Club has such broad appeal, but it’s best for anyone who enjoys lifestyle pop-ups with a strong social element.
Coffee lovers will appreciate the free-flow buffet concept, especially those keen to sample both traditional Nanyang brews and Western-style coffee in one setting. It is also a great fit for groups of friends looking for a casual weekend outing that offers more than just food and drinks.

Families with children can enjoy the hands-on workshops, photobooth and light-hearted games, while older visitors may appreciate the nostalgic touches such as mahjong themes, Mandopop throwbacks and the heartland setting. Those who want to explore neighbourhood happenings rather than typical malls should go.
How to get to Weekend Brew Club: Toa Payoh
The Toa Payoh edition takes place at Kim Keat Palm on 9 and 10 May from 9am to 3pm.
The easiest way to get there by MRT is via Braddell MRT Station or Toa Payoh MRT Station on the North-South Line, followed by a short bus ride (no. 238). Bus users can also access the estate easily via routes serving Lorong 7 Toa Payoh and nearby roads.
How to get to Weekend Brew Club: Bras Basah
The Bras Basah edition takes place at Bras Basah Complex on 15 and 16 May from 1pm to 7pm.
This location is extremely accessible by public transport. The most convenient station is Bras Basah MRT Station on the Circle Line, which is just a short walk away. You can also use Bencoolen MRT Station, Bugis MRT Station or City Hall MRT Station, depending on where you are travelling from.
Do we recommend Weekend Brew Club?
That’s an emphatic ‘yes’! If, like me, you enjoy discovering creative local events that feel more engaging than the usual roadshow or sales activation, this is my recommendation for your next 2 weekends.

The Toa Payoh edition looks stronger for nostalgic fun and freebies, while Bras Basah may appeal more to those who prefer a central location with artsy surroundings. Our office is in Toa Payoh, so I’ll see you at the first one, for sure.
Overall, Weekend Brew Club sounds like a smart, easy and low-cost weekend plan with broad appeal. If you are nearby, it is worth checking out.
