According to a Facebook post by Death Kopitiam Singapore, Mr. Loke was diagnosed with end-stage lung cancer in May 2024 but was deemed unsuitable for chemotherapy or surgery.

He was hospitalised on 24 Jun after several falls at home, and on 26 Jun, doctors informed the family of his critical condition. Despite this, Mr. Loke requested to go home once his condition stabilised. On 28 Jun, he had dinner with over 20 family members and passed away peacefully in his sleep later that night.
