Those of you who have been following our articles may remember our previous feature on Yam Mee at Kovan Market & Food Centre. An update – recently, they’ve expanded by taking over the adjacent stall, offering prawn noodles and curry chicken noodles.

Yam Mee’s original stall specialises in Teochew fishball noodles, serving exceptional mee pok since 1968 and consistently drawing long queues. Now run by the third generation, the stall continues to excel in its specialty dish. Patrons often wait an average of 30-45 minutes for a bowl of their fishball noodles.

The menu at the new stall is straightforward, primarily focusing on prawn noodles. They offer the dish in 3 variations: Prawn Noodle (S$5 – S$7), Big Prawn Noodle (S$6 – S$10), and Pork Ribs Prawn Noodle (S$6 – S$8). Notably, all of these items are available in both dry and soup versions, allowing customers to choose what type they  prefer.

The prawn noodle boasts a rich brown soup, consisting of your choice of noodles, several prawns, kangkung, bean sprouts, lean meat, and crispy pork lard. The dry prawn noodle is served with a bowl of prawn broth on the side, making for a complete and satisfying meal.

Besides prawn noodles, the stall also serves Curry Chicken Noodle (S$5 – S$7), featuring flavourful curry gravy and several slices of poached chicken on top— spicy lovers shouldn’t miss out on this!
