New in town: HotBox SG — Muslim-owned Western coffeeshop stall sells spicy samyang noodle pratas and messy burgers

Ever wanted to try Samyang’s famous spicy instant noodles in prata form? The newly opened Muslim-owned hawker stall, HotBox SG, brings this novel creation to Teban Gardens.

Located within the Makan Shiok coffeeshop along 49 Teban Gardens, HotBox SG offers classic Western fare, as well as fusion dishes and giant platters.

Their most notable creation is their Samyang Prata, available in Plain (S$6), Chicken (S$7) or Beef (S$8). Filled with Samyang noodles and topped with cheese sauce, I am certainly intrigued by this unique dish. With customisable spice levels, why not challenge yourself and get them extra spicy?

HotBox SG’s assortment of classic Western dishes include Crispy Chicken Cutlet (S$7.50), Chicken Chop (S$8.50), Lamb Chop (S$14.50), Dinner Steak (Striploin) (S$13) and Fish & Chips (S$8), to satisfy lovers of old-school Western fare.

Their burgers, on the other hand, come with an assortment of protein choices, like Chicken (S$7.50), Crispy Chicken (S$7), Beef (S$8) and Fish (S$6.50). The Lemak Chili Api Chicken Burger (S$9.50) is the most eye-catching burger on the menu, for it dons black buns with contrasting light-coloured fillings. This fusion burger combines Western elements with the popular Malay dish, lemak chilli api.

If you’re looking to dine with friends and family, try ordering one of HotBox SG’s platters. The Friendly Platter (S$15) is suitable for two to three pax and comes with crispy chicken nuggets, cheesy chicken sausages, wedges, french fries and fried buns topped with cheese sauce.

For big groups, Big Family Fiesta (S$42) comes with a chicken cutlet, chicken nuggets, cheesy chicken sausages, cheesy wedges, Samyang noodles, a sunny side-up egg, truffle fries, a choice of one pasta and two assorted burgers.

I don’t know about you, but I’m definitely itching to try HotBox SG’s unique creations.
