Do you often find yourself in the lunch race of trying to figure out what to have in the morning before you sprint down to your favourite stall to avoid the long queues? I feel you hence I’m here today to introduce you to a newly opened Muslim-owned joint at Maxwell Food Centre, Jab’r Grill, which opened in October 2021. It sells a slew of elevated skewer-centred dishes at affordable prices.

Yes, you obviously know there are skewers on the menu but what you don’t know is this quaint stall in Maxwell Food Centre also serves premium meat at pocket-friendly prices.

Their mix-and-match menu is pretty easy to follow. For S$5.50, you get your Base (choice of Fried Bee Hoon (white)Fried Kway TeowFried NoodlesOriental Fried RiceSambal Fried Rice or Tea Rice) with a side of Grilled Skewer (choice of 5-piece Coffee Rub ChickenFiery Tumeric Chicken, Lemongrass PrawnTeriyaki Shiitake Mushroom). You can also opt to add a Premium Skewer (choice of Rainbow Salmon or Garlic Wagyu Beef) that’ll only set you back an additional S$1.

Additionally, they also have an all-day breakfast menu serving dishes like Nasi Lemak with Skewer (S$4.50)Fried Banana Poppers (S$3 for 10 pieces), Assorted Malay Kuihs (S$2 for one packet), and the OG in the skewer game, Satay (S$8 for 10 sticks).
