KOKS, the ‘World’s Most Remote Restaurant’, will visit SG for the first time in Jan 2022

A reason why my favourite restaurant is well, you know, my favourite is because it’s always there if I need a good meal to perk myself up after a bad week, or whenever ‘treat myself’ days are on the calendar. But today, we’re focusing our attention on KOKS, with a formidable reputation as the World’s Most Remote Restaurant.

KOKS boasts a two-Michelin star rating and is typically fully booked six months in advance. And now, this elusive eatery will visit our sunny island for their first full-length Asian residency in Grand Hyatt Singapore. Renowned for serving Nordic cuisine in their home in Leynavatn, this restaurant will be bringing all Singaporean guests the bona fide dining experience—with rare produce flown in from the Faroe Islands, and authentic music and ambience to make this a gastronomical occasion that you’ll never forget.

Chef Ziska, Executive Chef at KOKs, will be exploring the integration of Asian ingredients into their Nordic fare, so diners can expect a juxtaposition of familiar and foreign flavours. The strong emphasis on local traditions such as wind drying, curing, smoking, pickling, and more will remain, promising an authentic experience curated for the contemporary palate.

Guests can expect the signature dishes available at KOKS, such as the Fermented Ocean Perch with fermented lamb intestines and cheese, and Cod Filet with Fermented Cabbage and Caviar. The star appetiser of the restaurant, the Langoustine Roll, will also be available—the Faroe Islands lobster is considered second to none amongst its other ocean delicacies.

The residency will accommodate 30 pax at the five-course Lunch (S$228++) menu, and 45 pax at the 12-course Dinner (S$458++) menu, and reservations will be made available to the general public come 14 December 2021. In order to maximise the chances of booking a slot, the public is encouraged to register their interest from 7 December 2021 onwards.
