Being a huge fan of lala (clam), Lai Foong Lala Noodles has always been my favourite spot to indulge in them. Imagine every spoonful feeling like a warm hug — that is such bliss to the senses.
Lai Foong Lala Noodles started up as a humble stall back in 2008. It began its journey by selling fried rice and noodles at Kedai Kopi Lai Foong. Several months later, they started to serve lala noodles, which brought them to their current achievement.
The stall has now risen from just being known amongst locals to one of tourists’ must- visits. It has grown from one humble stall to several outlets. Recently, it has even been recognised with a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2023.

Just as the name suggests, Lala Noodles (RM15) is the signature dish of this stall. I recommend trying this dish on a cold or rainy day, as the rich broth made of ginger and rice wine makes it a comforting choice for chilly weather. The broth is spicy (comes from the pungency of ginger) with a hint of the taste of wine.
Coming to the main star of the dish, the lala — it is well cooked and succulent. Lala tends to get rubbery as it can be easily overcooked. However, the lala here is done just perfectly, retaining its tenderness while offering a pleasant resistance that adds to its overall appeal in dishes.. It releases a burst of juices with each bite. The noodles also maintain a subtle springiness.
The entire dish offers a vibrant blend of textures and flavours, crafting a delightful symphony of sensations with each bite.If you’re looking for warm comfy food, make sure to stop by Lai Foong Lala Noodles— you won’t regret it.
