Lola’s Cafe at Simon Road is one of the OG cafes in Singapore that’s well-known to cafe-hopping enthusiasts. Don’t be alarmed if you’re around the neighbourhood and discover that their shutters aren’t opened, for they will be closed until Apr 2023.

After hitting their 10th anniversary at Kovan, loyal fans have witnessed the various faces and developments of the establishment over the past decade.

Starting 30 Jan 2023, the space will be undergoing a 2-month facelift. With this refurbishment, they hope that their patrons will have a better dining experience and the cafe continues being their favourite spot to get some respite away from the city.

Additional al fresco seating arrangements which are dog-friendly will also be added.

Many cafes have come and gone by the hundreds, especially during the pandemic period. Many businesses were greatly affected due to the lack of manpower and the drop in human footfall. However, Lola’s Cafe is a survivor, largely due to its steady flow of regular customers who’ve supported them over the past decade.

For those who want to reminisce in the cafe’s old surroundings before the long renovation starts, you’ll have until 29 Jan to do so.

If you’re worried about having withdrawal symptoms, you can still visit their Holland Village outlet for delicious brunch treats, freshly-roasted coffee and awesome desserts.

As the saying goes, “all good things are worth waiting for.” Let’s all look forward to a new and improved Lola’s Cafe in Apr 2023— I’ll be patient!
