Bak chor mee aficionados and fans of the wildly popular Macpherson Minced Meat Noodles, you probably want to stick with me on this. The establishment is slated to shutter its most popular outlet in Potong Pasir, AKA the best-rated BCM joint in Singapore.
Although Macpherson Minced Meat Noodles has yet to come forth with a formal announcement, multiple media outlets and online sources have divulged that the closure is slated for 14 Aug 2024.
This comes after the tragic passing of the owner of the 47 Tai Thong Crescent coffeeshop that currently houses the stall. While the fate of the coffeeshop and its tenants was previously in the air, an Instagram post by MissTamChiak reflected that the coffeeshop has since been sold.
Fret not, though; this certainly isn’t the end of the road for Macpherson Minced Meat Noodles. In fact, even greater things are in store! The Tai Thong Cres outlet will not only be relocating come Sep 2024, but there’ll be an upgrade in its opening hours, too — it’ll reportedly be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
In case you haven’t already heard, they’ve also recently opened another outlet in Tai Seng along Playfair Rd. What’s more, the stall is helmed by none other than Uncle Yap, the business’ original owner. There’s also another outlet in Bukit Batok that’s run by Uncle Yap’s sister and brother-in-law. Hooray to more places to get a delicious BCM fix!
In the meantime, be sure to snag yourself a bowl of BCM or two from the Tai Thong Cres outlet before it shutters. I mean, it’s racked up an impressive rating of 4.3 stars from a whopping 374 Google reviews; their fare, whipped up by Uncle Yap’s former apprentice, isn’t to be missed.
One thing, though: the early bird seriously catches the worm there. Ever since the news of their impending closure broke, their Minced Meat Noodles (S$5) have been selling like hotcakes. Be sure to get there bright and early to secure yourself a bowl!
