We start Nov 2026 with some sad news for foodies: Maxim Tam Chiak Kopitiam at Tampines Street 64 ceased operations on 1 Nov 2026. This kopitam will be deeply missed by residents.
If the name Maxim Tam Chiak sounds familiar, it’s because this kopitiam was part of the Tam Chiak Kopitiam group. The owner is fellow foodie Maureen Ow, aka Miss Tam Chiak, alongside actor Chew Chor Meng and DJ Dennis Chew.

Set below the Tampines GreenCrest BTO in Oct 2025, it featured 10 stalls of a variety of cuisines for easily bored palates. From classic Nasi Padang at Boolatzkitchenz to traditional fish head curry at Jalan Wong Ah Fook Curry Fish Head, you were definitely spoiled for choice.
The Tampines outlet was the 4th coffeeshop under their wing. Their Kovan branch closed in May 2026. Fret not, they still have 2 more outlets: one at Punggol and another at Bidadari but the stalls there are different from those at the Tampines outlet.

When they first launched, they had a banger lineup of diverse choices and flavours. This included Delight Hainan Western, Vege Bear, Steams Variety, Mohamed Waseef Indian Muslim Food and Chaoyuan Noodle. As you can see, residents of all backgrounds had a lot to choose from. While there are probably other coffee shops nearby, there’s no denying that there’s someone out there who just lost one of their favourites.
The options don’t just end at the stalls themselves, mind you. Delight Hainan Western offered over 40 dishes, most of which were under S$10. So to summarise, Maxim Tam Chiak Kopitiam had multiple stalls with different cuisines, affordable prices, and the kopitiam itself was open 24 hours. Their closure is definitely going to hurt for a while.

While this closure is heart-wrenching, it is far from the end — they recently teased a new outlet at Tengah with claims that it will be their biggest outlet yet. Keep an eye on their Instagram for future announcements. I doubt this will be the last of Maxim Tam Chiak Kopitiam.
