Amazing! That’s the translation of the word ‘Jiang’ from Korean and from the descriptions and the images, the new Jjang! Jjang! Burgers from McDonald’s are definitely going to live up to the name. They are available for a limited time from 5 May at McDonald’s outlets and on the McDonald’s app.

Every Jjang! Jjang! Burger is made of either a crispy-battered chicken thigh or quarter pounder beef patty. The meat is prepared by first soaking it in a spicy marinade and then coating it thoroughly in a unique sweet and spicy Korean sauce. After it is cooked to a heavenly crispy exterior, the patty is slipped between two halves of a soft, steamed bun and garnished with lettuce and tomato.

From 9-31 May, take full advantage of the Jjang! Jjang! offers on the McDonald’s app. You get 1-for-1 deals with both the Chicken McCrispy Extra Value Meal and the Double McSpicy Burger.

McDonald’s has introduced several burgers inspired by Japanese cuisine such as the Hokkaido Salmon Burger and the Samurai Burger before. It seems our taste for all things Korean transcends just TV shows and is sidling into our palates as well. These Jjang! Jjang! Burgers promise to be a delicious start to this new fast food trend.
