Another day, another ramen shop joins the ranks of Singapore’s ever-burgeoning Japanese food scene. Okay, Menya Kanae is not exactly the new kid on the block, and frequent purveyors of Japanese food hall Hokkaido Marche would recognise the famous Hokkaido ramen stall. Now, Menya Kanae has opened its first brick-and-mortar store located conveniently at Novena MRT station. Convenience and Hokkaido style ramen—it’s like they read my mind.

Menya Kanae’s new space at Novena Regency appears bright and clean, complete with an adorable mural celebrating all things ramen. Seeing as we are approaching the weekend, I can’t think of a better lunch spot.

Those familiar with Menya Kanae can look forward to their Birikara “The Spiciest” Miso Ramen (S$16.80) which is one of Menya Kanae’s Signature spicy tonkotsu miso ramen. Their Original Red Spicy Paste means business and seeing as we are all already such die-hard spice fiends, this bowl of ramen certainly ticks all the boxes.
With such a devilish spicy broth, tender rectangles of melt-in-your-mouth pork and slurp-worthy noodles, even I’m dying to make a trip down.

Since you’ve made your way down here, then a serving of their Spicy Tokusei Sapporo Ebi Tonkotsu Ramen (S$19.80) is one that you’ll have to try. Just looking at that tantalising char on those gleaming vermillion prawns accompanied by a shower of sakura tempura flakes definitely warrants making a trip down.

Well, if ramen was not rewarding enough Menya Kanae is about to make the experience a whole lot better. For their opening weekend, Menya Kanae is offering 1-for-1 ramen from today till 18 October 2020 which if you know us, is a deal that sounds almost too good to be true.
And it only gets better, Menya Kanae wants you to have a good time with a S$5 Sapporo Beer Promotion that you can pair with their moreish bar bites.
