Looking for a warm cup of coffee and some great grub? Bugis has always been a hub for such vibes, and the newest kid on the block is Mondays.
Built on the concept of starting the week with endless possibilities, the cafe aims to offer a warm and inviting atmosphere. I do love the soft yellow lighting that envelops the eatery, drawing me toward its comfort.
The cafe opened its doors on 13 Sep 2022, and its menu mainly includes coffees, canelés, brunch and skillet-served food. Some of its signature items are Chilli Corne Carne Rosti (S$24) and the Biscoff Latte (S$7 for hot, $8 for iced).
Their range of skillets seems never-ending with categories divided into Cold Skillet, Hot Skillet, Dessert Skillet, Pasta Skillet and Hot Skillet + Egg.
The star of the show, however, seems to be the canelé. The French treat comes in flavours like Original (S$4), Raspberry Truffle (S$6), Matcha (S$6), Dalgona Espresso (S$6), and Valrhona Chocolate Seasalt (S$6). Another thing to note— this cafe caters for non-alcoholics. Their version of the custard-centred pastry does not use alcohol for its flavouring, being one of the very few places to do so.
The Steak and Eggs (S$28) is a dish that’s too good to be missed. It has Angus striploin southern grain MS4 150g meat, sunny-side-up eggs, sautéed king oyster mushroom, fried kale and cherry tomatoes. It has me salivating already.
Another interesting option is the Corsican Peach & Burrata (S$23) which comes with milky cheese, baked yellow peach Corsica, semi-dried tomatoes, pecan nuts, and balsamic berry dressing.
Surprise— they’re closed on Mondays! So do keep that in mind before heading down to give this cafe a try!
