Tucked away in residential Bishan, Mr. Bucket Chocolaterie stands out with its modern, whimsical facade. Here at their open-concept retail space, you can not only pick from over 25 flavours of chocolate bon bons and treats on display, but feel free to also catch a glimpse of their kitchen space and witness all the chocolate magic happening in front of your eyes.

With the use of single-estate chocolate sourced from cacao farms around Asia, Mr. Bucket Chocolaterie hopes to take this opportunity to promote and showcase the beauty of Asian cacao beans.

Locally-inspired flavours include the Salted Egg Yolk, a chocolate bon bon created in collaboration with local snack company, The Golden Duck. Filled with a salted egg yolk ganache and a crunchy feuilletine base, this is kind of chocolate salted egg lovers will delight in.

As someone who dances between liking and disliking salted egg, this one was actually one of their better creations. I appreciated the smooth ganache contrasting with the salty, gritty yolk core. It actually made a lot of sense, even if you believe it wouldn’t, from its name.

For those with an adventurous tastebud, Mala will surely tickle your fancy. This fiery looking metallic bon bon is filled with white and dark chocolate mala ganache made from real mala oil from Hao Zhang Ji Chicken Claypot, a local zi char shop specialising in their numbing mala dishes.

For this, I had difficulty finding middle-ground, as it tasted akin to eating a decadent bon bon followed by a generous sip of mala broth. The two flavours were too distinct and I simply could wrap my palate around it.

For those who gravitate towards boozy bon bons, there’s Dark Pahit, Singapore Sling, Black Forest and the Mulled Wine. Unique and full of amazing flavours, these alcoholic sweet treats will surely make for the perfect end after a festive meal with a glass of wine.

All chocolate bon bons and bars are available for purchase at their retail store as well as their online platform in boxes of six (from S$19) or boxes of 12 (from S$32). You can either opt for self-collection or next day express delivery with free delivery for orders above S$50
