Nestled in the heart of Tampines, this humble joint promises utterly delicious Japanese fare that doesn’t burn a hole in your wallet. Opened in late January, Ninja Chirashi offers an impressive variety of rice-and-meat options that are bound to whet the appetite. So what can you expect from their specially curated menu?

Calling out to all the seafood lovers out there, let’s start things off with the Ninja Chirashi Don (S$9.90). Chunks of fresh sashimi come stacked atop vinegared rice and paired off with cucumber, tamago, and ebiko. The binding ingredient? Ninja Chirashi’s secret recipe Japanese sauce that elevates the bowl with a barrage of flavour. Here’s something that might excite you. If you’re a truffle lover, the Truffle Chirashi Don (S$11.90) is a perfect option, especially considering that it only requires an additional S$2. What a steal.

If seafood isn’t your thing, fret not, because the Tori Karaage Don (S$9.90) seeks to impress with crispy morsels of fried chicken. The kicker? It’s topped off with a homemade mentaiko sauce for a savoury, creamy finish to the rice bowl. Nothing speaks to the soul like fried chicken, and Ninja Chirashi knows this.

Lastly, we have the Kabayaki Unagi Don (S$15.90) in all its grilled, succulent glory. This one needs little words to describe its attractiveness. A hunk of grilled eel rests on warm rice, all glazed in a beautifully prepared Kabayaki sauce that makes for an absolute joy to devour.

Ninja Chirashi is shaping out to be a fantastic option for affordable dining in the heartlands. For another delectable option nearby, do check out Kraft Kitchen. I reckon that you’d be hard-pressed to find a Japanese eatery as affordable as this one—lucky easties.
