If you’re a fan of the iconic Oriental Kopi, you’ll no longer have to trek across the Causeway to get your fix – they’re opening an outlet in Bugis Junction. This is Oriental Kopi’s first overseas venture, and it’s a collaboration with Paradise Group, a household name in Singapore that has more than 150 establishments worldwide.

The outlet is located on level 2 and has a seating capacity of 100 pax. This outlet will have almost all of Oriental Kopi’s signatures, as well as a selection of merchandise.

oriental kopi - spread

One of the must-orders is the eponymous Oriental Kopi (S$2 for hot/small, S$3.20 for hot/big, S$3.50 for cold). This full-bodied Nanyang-style coffee is made from a “golden ratio” featuring a trio of top quality coffee beans: Arabica, Robusta, and Liberica. The Oriental Mocha (S$4.20 for hot, S$4.80 for cold) combines their signature brew with lashings of chocolate to create an intense and distinctive combination of chocolate and coffee flavours.

The Double Butter Kaya Toast (Traditional) (S$2.60) is a heavenly combination of fluffy bread toasted to perfection with thick slabs of butter and fragrant house-made kaya sandwiched between.

oriental kopi - bolo bun

Recorded in the Malaysian Book of Records for “Most Number of Polo Buns sold”, the Oriental Polo Bun (S$4.60) comes with 2 thick slabs of chilled butter and condensed milk. To gain entry into bready, buttery heaven, simply place the butter in the warm bun, drizzle it with condensed milk and enjoy.

oriental kopi - egg tarts

Oriental Kopi is also famed for its Signature Egg Tarts (S$5.20 for 2pcs, S$15.60 for 5+1 pieces). These lush custardy delights are some of the heftiest we’ve seen, and have also made the Malaysian Book of Records for being both “Thickest Egg Tart” and “Most Number of Egg Tarts Sold”. It’s easy to see (and taste) why.

mee siam

For mains, there’s a large selection of rice and noodle dishes, as well as vegetarian options. The Oriental Fried Chicken Meat Mee Siam (S$9.50) comes with fragrant dry mee siam, sweet sambal, a jiggly poached egg and chunks of perfectly fried chicken. Mouthwateringly good and with a piquant spicy kick.

prawn meehoon mee

The Oriental Prawn Meehoon Mee (S$9.50) is incredibly aromatic and flavourful. Despite the intimidating, fiery red exterior, this dish is actually like a warm hug for the belly – the broth is made with prawn and chicken, and simmered for 5 hours. The result is a delicious, highly slurpable bowl.

merch

There’s also a selection of merchandise, including Traditional Panmee (from S$1.80 for 1 packet) and coffee mixes (from S$6.50 per box). To celebrate the Oriental Kopi’s grand opening, diners can purchase any 3 items and get 1 for free. The promotion is only valid from 27 Nov – 1 Dec 2024, so don’t dawdle!
