Get into the Holiday Spirit at Lime Restaurant at PARKROYAL on Pickering
It truly is the most wonderful time of the year. All around Singapore you can see the streets, shops and people gearing up for this magical and festive season. What better way to celebrate the holidays than by gathering your friends and family and celebrating in style over some festive and heart warming Christmas cuisine.
Over at Lime Restaurant at the PARKROYAL on Pickering, your resident hotel-in-a-garden, they are offering a very merry and delicious buffet spread of savory and sweet specialty creations – perfect for filling your belly and getting you into the holiday spirit.
We were lucky enough to taste a sneak peak of some of their holiday buffet items offerings early. The festive buffet (in addition to their regular buffet offerings) will be available for lunch and dinner from 4 December – 3 January 2016 as Lime gears up for their larger Christmas Eve and Christmas Day events. Kicking things off we sampled a perfectly festive and generous slice of foie gras. The dish was nicely paired with delicate slices of toast. Come Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the culinary brigade at Lime will elevate this fine dish by flambéing the foie gras with a touch of Cognac. Having sampled quite a few hotel buffets in my day, I am always excited to find quality foie gras on the menu.
From the Carving Station – roasted whole turkey with chestnut stuffing. It hardly gets more festive than that. Add in some cranberry sauce, giblet sauce, roasted vegetables and bacon wrapped sausages and this is something I would be going back for seconds (and possibly thirds).
For the fish lovers out there, tasty and tender roasted Atlantic salmon fillet plus scallops will certainly cure your cravings and make you feel a little healthy in between all that Christmas meat.
With the consistency of Santa shimmying down the chimney on Christmas Eve, beef is something that shows up at my family Christmas each and every year. At Lime you can indulge on tender, roasted wagyu beef with red wine jus until your hearts content. I always do.
With a nod to local Singapore cuisine, the festive Christmas buffet at Lime also includes a delicious lobster laksa. The warm, coconut flavored broth, tender noodles and hearty lobster tail meat had the whole table nodding with delight to this premium local favorite.
Outside all the goodness we sampled ourselves, some other festive dishes that will be featured during the buffet are: honey-baked ham with apple sauce (yum!), lobster bisque with lemongrass and more.
And don’t think there wasn’t a plethora of extra sweet and festive desserts to be had. To satisfy the sweet cravings of your little ones and the young-at-heart, save some space for the delicious Nutella and durian crepes fresh from the live crepe station, nitrogen ice cream or candies from the lolly buffet on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The festive buffet will feature a variety of chocolate-y, cake-y and frosted treats to nibble on or share with the table.
Sweet specialties will include a traditional Christmas pudding with brandy sauce, caramelized hazelnut and orange chocolate, buttercream yule logs and an eggnog cheesecake – yes to all of that, please.

A variety of tasty and beautifully decorated logcakes are available in 500gm and 1kg sizes ($30-$62).
I mean are these Christmas-themed cupcakes not the cutest things you have ever seen? Just look at that little sugary penguin! They are almost, just almost too cute to eat. Festive cupcakes are available for purchase at $6 each.
The spread over at Lime Restaurant really got us into the holiday spirit and left us full and satisfied. The roasted turkey, Maine lobster laksa and various dessert selections really stood out to me and made the dining experience.
