Westies, listen up! Playmade by丸作 has finally opened an outlet in the West—specifically, in Westgate.

Ever since Playmade opened its first Tampines outlet in 2017, this bubble tea chain has been taking Singapore by storm with its signature pink cactus pearls—with 11 other stores islandwide.

What’s a grand opening without equally amazing deals? Playmade celebrates its new outlet with 1-for-1 promotion from now until 19 July 2020. Do note that the promotion is only valid for their five most popular drinks:

  • Taiwan Milk Tea
  • Chrysanthemum Milk Tea
  • Yakult Green Tea
  • Honey Green Tea
  • Orange Pulp Green Tea.

You’ll get the drinks in large sizes, and the complimentary drink will be of equal or lower value to the most expensive drink you’ve ordered.

If you’re here at Playmade, then you have to get their famous flavoured pearls. You’d need to top up S$1.50 for the pearls, but with flavours like pink cactus, black sesame, chrysanthemum and more, it’s well worth the price.

You’ll have to make your orders online, and head down to Westgate for self-pickup. Do note that the website will be closed once the timeslots are filled up, and you can only get up to eight drinks in one order.

Can’t decide what to get? Here are our top three picks from Playmade.

1. Orange Pulp Green Tea with Pink Cactus Pearls

Citrus notes? Check. Vibrant, Insta-worthy hues? Check.

If you’re feeling a little hot and bothered thanks to our humid weather, the Orange Pulp Green Tea with Pink Cactus combination will snap you out of your heat funk.

Refreshing and tangy, this drink is sure to perk you right up. The juicy orange pulp and Playmade’s signature chewy pink cactus pearls really complement the tangy, citrus notes with fragrant green tea undertones.

2. Taiwan Milk Tea with Black Sesame Pearls

The OG of all bubble tea flavours, it’s hard to go wrong with Taiwan Milk Tea.

Add in Black Sesame pearls for a burst of nutty, earthy fragrance and a hint of sweetness—mmm, it’s almost like a dessert in a cup.

Only downside? It’s not as vibrant in colours as the other drinks from Playmade, but who really cares about that when you’re enjoying sip after sip of creamy, nutty goodness.

3. Honey Green Tea with Chrysanthemum Pearls

Feeling a little under the weather, or just in the mood for something a little healthier? No need to break out the herbal teas, when you can just sip on Honey Green Tea with Chrysanthemum Pearls.

Honey’s great for soothing any sore throats, and green tea is supposed to help in fat burning. Plus, you always find chrysanthemum in traditional Chinese medicine halls.

And if someone tries to tell you this is just bubble tea, well, at least it’s incredibly tasty bubble tea that happens to taste healthy.

I don’t know about you, but I’m all geared up and ready to snag my 1-for-1 drinks from Playmade. (Of course, remember to maintain safe distancing measures—we’re still in the midst of a pandemic.)

If you think our top three picks are too ordinary, here’s our challenge to you: come up with a tasty combination and let us know which pearls you paired with the drinks!

Dates & Times: 1-for-1 promotion is available from 16 – 19 July 2020
